X Factor apology after Frankie Cocozza drops the F-word on live show

The X Factor was forced to apologise after heartthrob contestant Frankie Cocozza swore on the live broadcast well before the 9pm watershed.

The teenage wannabe uttered the expletive towards the end of Sunday night’s results show when he was told he was through to another week in the ITV talent competition.

As Sami Brookes and Kitty Brucknell were left in the bottom two, tousle-haired Cocozza, 18, jumped around the stage before embracing his mentor, Gary Barlow, and yelling: 'F*****g have it, get in there.'Gary Barlow seriously undermined his credibility as X Factor's head judge last night after admitting he had lied about the performance of one of his acts.

The Take That star confessed he had wrongly praised Frankie Cocozza during last week's show when the contestant nearly left after finishing in the bottom two.

After the 18-year-old performed Primal Scream's Get Your Rocks Of this week, Barlow said he was setting the record straight.

'When I decided to sit in this seat, there was one thing I promised myself I would never do, and that was lie and I lied for you last weekend and I said your performance was good and it wasn’t…it was awful. You deserved to be in the bottom two last week,' he said.
